I'm not sure why I'm even bothering to do this. But everyone always asks me if we have one, so I'll start one. I've always thought that blogs were for people with kids so that they can show pics and brag about them and since we don't have any, it just never occurred to me to do one. BUT our lives are fairly complicated right now and I get tired of trying to explain it to everyone, so here you go.
Kolt and I sold our home in North Salt Lake at the end of October. The plan at the time was to move in with my parents until he joined the US Air Force Nurse Corps in February. He would keep his job in SLC and have an apartment down there so he had a place to stay when he worked. However, a few weeks ago we changed our minds about that.
So now we're still living part time in Idaho, part time in Utah, but the plan is to have him apply to graduate school for Nurse Anesthesia and THEN join the USAF. That way they still pay for his schooling but he can go straight to school.
BUT, (again there is a but) he may or may not have an issue being accepted into the USAF because of a bee sting "allergy" that is really more a sensitivity. We've submitted his medical records from his ER visits to the selection committee and they have to decide whether nor not they want to take him with his "condition." So, now we're waiting on that. Hopefully we'll know after the new year sometime.
That also being said, we're not sure what we're doing for now. We're still living with my parents. It's been going very well and I think they like having us there and we enjoy being there. And we're still renting a room from one of Kolt's co-workers, but we're not sure how long that will last. If we are in fact going to be here for another year or so, living in other people's homes may not be the best option. For now, it works and so we're sticking with that.
Many of you may also know that Kolt and I lost two babies this year. The first a boy on May 7th at 12 weeks pregnant, the second on September 30th at 7 weeks pregnant. These losses were devastating for me especially, but for our whole family in general. We were planning on continuing to try to get pregnant when Kolt was going to go straight into the Air Force, but now that we are homeless and don't have nearly as good of insurance, we've decided that we need to wait a while, most likely until Kolt is done with graduate school. It was a hard decision, but really the only one that made any sense to us. Hopefully, when Kolt is all done with school, we will finally be able to have a child of our own.
I guess that's pretty much it for now. As we learn things I'll update, but don't expect too much because like I said, our lives really are quite boring and I don't feel like I have a lot to say!
